Milestones

  1. Drifting of bees caused by sublethal toxic effects - acute effects (with module 1 & module 2):

    • Creation of well-fed forager bees.
    • Sampling of the flying bees of 10 colonies at each of three apiaries.
    • Determination of the diagnostic µ-sat Loci for genetic analysis.
    • Quantitative analysis of the pooled DNA samples.
    • Quantitation of the main pathogens of drifted bees.

  1. Drifting of bees caused by sublethal toxic effects of pesticides - sublethal effects:

    • Same sub-items as mentioned previously.

  1. Transmission of pathogens - site-specific effects (with module 5 & module 6):

    • Sampling of drone brood and flying bees at all locations of module 5
    • Genetic analysis for the estimation of drifting.
    • Quantitation of pathogen exposure of drifted bees in modules 5 & 6.

  1. Transmission of pathogens - colony density:

    • Similar sub-items as mentioned previously.

  1. Development of a molecular biological rapid test for viral diseases:

    • Method for sample preparation and preparation of ABPV in bees.
    • Molecular biological rapid test methods for detection of ABPV in bees.
    • Validation of a practical method for a rapid detection of ABPV in bees.
